1200 Scale Napoleonic Naval Battle
Naval battles using 1200 scale warships have long been a popular form of war game. The pictures on this gallery illustrate a recreation of part of the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. The Napoleonic era is filled with large and small wooden ships, with billowing sails and some of the finest Commanders in the history of sea warfare and Trafalgar is perhaps the ultimate conflict. Fought of the coast of Spain between Britain and the combined fleets of France and Spain, the crushing defeat inflicted upon the Allies by Admiral Lord Nelson and his warships, confirmed Britain as the Masters of the Seas and ended forever any hope Napoleon had that he might invade the shores of his most determined enemy. The little models illustrated are from a superb range of 1200 scale ships made by Warrior Miniatures. These were painted for an enthusiast to a good gaming standard and can be supplied, via special commission upon request.
